We read your file and organize its sections, then run 13 fixed checks, each with published points, adding up to 100: file readability 40 (readable text 15, sound reading order 10, intact Arabic text 5, no letter-spaced text 5, one or two pages 5) and content 60 (name and contact 10, recognised section headings 10, complete and ordered dates 10, achievements with numbers 10, short bullets 5, short summary 5, one language per file 5, specific skills 5). AI only organizes the CV's sections; it never sets the score. Missing LinkedIn or a photo alone does not deduct points. These are Astr's advisory weights, not an official ATS standard.

An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) helps employers manage applications, organize candidate information and search it. Clear text and sections help make a resume readable, but workflows and screening criteria vary by employer; formatting alone does not guarantee acceptance or rejection.

PDF text is extracted in your browser, then sent to Astr's server and the AI provider to structure the CV data; the score is calculated by fixed checks without AI. Astr retains assessment results and usage data according to its privacy policy; local file extraction does not mean the entire analysis stays on your device.

"Ready" starts at 85/100 in Astr. It is a useful advisory indicator, and reaching 100 is not required. Keep improving if you wish, but do not add skills or numbers that misrepresent your experience just to increase the score. No score guarantees passing an ATS or getting hired.

Image-only or scanned PDFs may not yield readable text. Try selecting and copying the text, and check word and section order. Creating a file in a particular app does not guarantee successful extraction. Fix unreadable content before relying on an assessment.

Yes. The grader supports Arabic and English text-based PDFs, and reads Word files and photos too, up to 10 MB; a photo needs to be sharp. Analysis depends on the extracted text, so review names, dates and sections, especially in multi-column or mixed-language files. Language support does not guarantee accuracy for every file.

The score is always free. Every account gets 3 checks that show all the findings, and after that you subscribe to Pro. Downloading your CV has its own limit.
